Ayush Guest House is a charming collection of rooms and cottages located in the beautiful valley of BaltaBadi, over the ridge from Paparsali. It is located five kilometres from Almora on the Binsar Road, and is a 10-15 minute walk down the valley, along a concrete path (porters are available to carry luggage, if required). When the majestic Himalayas are in the mood, the various mountain peaks of India, Tibet, and Nepal can be seen from here.
Mornings at Ayush involve unlocking your cute wooden door, feasting your eyes on a spectacular view, stepping onto the porch, sipping on some aromatic chai, sinking into a cushioned wooden chair and waiting for breakfast. If it gets too chilly, you can unwind in the small room stocked with books and magazines, low comfy seating and individual breakfast tables. Alternatively, in good weather, head upwards to a square enclosure complete with cushioned benches and a large table. The evenings are equally beautiful with the hills completely lit up and glass lanterns adorning the walls of the porch. We’d recommend taking this in while you sip on a glass of red wine.
This is a delightful place for birdwatchers, meditators, artists, and indeed anyone with a love for nature. There is a restaurant with a library, a selection of DVDs, a computer for the use of guests, and a small shop that sells local produce and organic consumables. There is also a seating area in the landscaped garden. Internet and Wi-Fi is available for all guests.
Ayush Guest House was founded and is run by Raju Bisht, a first generation entrepreneur driven by the passion to offer guests the warmth of Kumaoni hospitality. You can feel the warmth of a homestay, and the simplicity and tastefulness of a place than is run straight from the heart.
