Located at 550kms from Delhi and 305km from Chandigarh, Drivers from Delhi might want to break their journey for an overnight in Mandi. Overall the roads are clear but you may encounter some traffic at swarghat and the regular traffic on the Delhi Chandigarh highway so we recommend starting early by 4am especially if you wish to do the journey from Delhi in one day.
The route we follow is Delhi - Ambala - Rupnagar - Kiratpur Sahib - Bilaspur - Sundernagar - Mandi - Aut - Kullu - Manali.
There is much to stop for and sample on this route. So many scenic places and food wise its a treat - from the famous Murthal Paranthas to the small chola kulcha of Himachal so we recommend you add extra time for your impromptu stops.
