Places to visit in Sariska
Sariska National Park: Sariska National Park is a famous North Indian wild-life sanctuary spread over more than 270 sq kms and home to many species of wild life including leopards, big cats, deer, wild boar, and neelgai. It is also a bird watcher’s paradise, playing host to a number of feathered species. Its landscape is typical of the Aravallis, with hills and narrow valleys, rocks, cliffs, grasslands, and forests. The best time to visit is from August to May.
Kankawari Fort: Kankawari Fort, located inside the Sariska National Tiger Reserve is now in ruins, but a historical landmark, because it was at this Fort that Aurangzeb once kept his brother Dara Shikoh, in captivity. Situated atop a hill, the Fort provides panoramic views of Sariska’s landscape and natural surroundings.
Hanuman Temple of Pandu Pol: Pandupol also located inside Sariska National Park is famous not only for its Hanuman Temple but also because as per legend it is the place where the Pandavas spent some time when they were in exile. It is one of the most visited temples in Sariska, and is situated on the elevated hill extensions of the Aravalli Range.
Neelkanth Temple: Neelkanth is a temple complex located inside the Sariska National Park, best approached from the Tehla side, with ruins of more than 300 temples, some of which are still being used for worship. Surrounded by thick forests, the temples in this complex date back to the 6th and 13th centuries and are known for their stone and some erotic carvings.

Bhangarh Fort: Bhangarh Fort, about an hour’s drive South West from Van Chhavi is built on sloping terrain at the foot of the hills. It is a well preserved medieval fort with a natural spring, gardens, and a pond surrounded by trees and well worth a visit.
Siliserh Lake: Siliserh Lake, about an hour and a half away from Van Chhavi is a 10 sq km lake, near Alwar District of Rajasthan. It is a popular tourist spot that offers boating facilities and is known for a 19th-century palace built on the banks of the lake by the erstwhile royals of Alwar.
